Dog training sessions are held here at Deerness every Saturday morning from 10:30am until 11-30am, with our very own 'dog whisperer', Ian Young, of the International Service Dog Fund.

Ian is a highly qualified Instructor. He started his career at Guide Dogs for the Blind, Britain's largest organisation for Service Dog training. For ten years he worked for this organisation and he took the opportunity to undertake further training. He was promoted to a senior supervisory position. Ian has an excellent reputation and many special qualifications.
Not only is Ian familiar with the dog training, but also with some of the problems encountered by those dependent on Service Dogs. He has the skills necessary to communicate with visually impaired or deaf people.
Ian works as a consulting instructor for several organisations and advises on high quality dog training.
